Lucy Arrell

Archaeologist

Lucy has been working as an archaeologist with CFG Heritage Ltd as of 2023, and is proficient in archaeological survey, site assessment, monitoring, excavation, and artefact and feature analysis.

Lucy has a Master of Arts (First Class) in archaeology at the University of Auckland, investgating tool use on Pitcairn Island. As such she takes an interest in Polynesian toolmaking and use. Her work in museums has also developed an enthusiasm for public engagement in heritage.

Lucy spent her student years volunteering and working at CFG Heritage Ltd analysing midden from various sites around Tāmaki Makaurau, becoming familiar with faunal material. She is the recipient of several archaeological awards and scholarships, including the Auckland Museum Institute Postgraduate Scholarship funding her Masters research.
