Excavation of a thick midden deposit at the edge of Pukaki Creek in Ōrākei in the Waitematā Harbour undertaken prior to bulk construction works for the build of a cycle and walking path. The midden was nearly 1 meter deep and shellfish species were primarily harvested from the harbour although some species were imported from other environs, and people were to be fishing for finfish. The radiocarbon results suggest the site was occupied in the late 16th century. The excavations took place in 2020.
