Leela Moses (BSci, MA) is an archaeologist who trained at the University of Otago. She has whakapapa to ngā iwi ō Kurahaupo ki Te Tau Ihu me Horowhenua, Ngāti Kuia te iwi pakohe, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, Muaūpoko, and Rangitāne, as well as Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Raukawa ki te Tonga. Leela has worked as a kaitiaki/cultural monitor for iwi at Te Ara Tuhono/Puhoi to Wellsford extension road, and is an archaeologist with experience in both research, contract, large and small-scale. Leela’s particular interest is in pre-European Māori archaeology.
Leela also holds the role of NZAA Member Representative on the Archsite Board of Governance.
