Hayley has a Master of Arts (Hons) in anthropology and archaeology from the University of Auckland, and has been working as an archaeologist at CFG Heritage from 2019.

She has specialized in New Zealand / Pacific archaeology and in using Global Information Systems (GIS) in archaeological applications, experimenting with how the landscape can affect human behaviour and how evidence of human interactions with the landscape can be identified and classified remotely.

In addition to this, Hayley is experienced with various aspects of archaeological research, including archaeological survey, assessment, excavation, monitoring, analysis (particularly of middens and stone artefacts), and reporting across both pre-European Māori and historic sites in Aotearoa.
