Alison Dijs

Archaeologist
Alison has been working as an archaeologist with CFG Heritage Ltd as of 2024, and is proficient in archaeological survey, site assessment, monitoring, excavation, photogrammetry, robotic total station survey, and artefact and feature analysis.
Alison has a Master of Arts (First Class) in archaeology at the University of Auckland, investigating land transformation and irrigation systems in pre-European Sāmoa. She has specialised in using Global Information Systems (GIS) and computer modelling of water flow across landscapes in archaeological applications.
Alison spent her student years volunteering and working at CFG Heritage Ltd analysing midden from various sites around Tāmaki Makaurau, becoming familiar with faunal material. She has experience excavating in the Bay of Plenty, Coromandel, Tāmaki Makaurau, and sub-Antarctic islands. She has taught at the University of Auckland, including the archaeological field school.
