Matthew Campbell has a BA and MA in Anthropology from the University
of Otago and a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Sydney.
He has been a professional archaeologist since 1988, including lecturing
for three semesters in Archaeology at the University of Auckland.
He has worked extensively in New Zealand, the Pacific and Australia,
and has published in academic journals. Before joining CFG he operated
as a sole trader, working in Northland, Auckland and the Bay of Plenty.
His specialist skills include:
• GIS and mapping
• faunal analysis, particularly fishbone
Matthew edits Archaeology in New Zealand, the house journal
of the New
Zealand Archaeological Association. He sits on the committee of
The Polynesian
Society.
